Tidligere i år mistede vi den vel nok bedste italienske serietegner nogensinde, den uforlignelige Sergio Toppi, og vi måtte begræde, hvor lidt, der er udkommet på engelsk af ham. Nu vil et for mig nyt forlag, Archaia Entertainment, råde bod på denne mangel med to dejlige overraskelser i december måned. To hele albums af mesteren Sergio Toppi.

In Memoriam: Sergio Toppi 1932-2012

All of us here at Archaia were saddened to learn of the passing of Sergio Toppi. An incomparable illustrator of European comics, Toppi was a master storyteller who inspired many of us with his impeccable linework, his inventive compositions and design sense, and perhaps above all with his fascination with diverse peoples and cultures.

Our hearts and prayers go out to his many friends, family members, and students; to them and to our colleagues at Mosquito Editions in France, who now hold his publishing legacy as a treasure for future generations of comic artists and readers to discover, we extend our deepest condolences.
