Et 100 siders lutter Ditko sommer nummer af Eerie

Steve Ditko fik sit helt eget nummer af det gamle sh Warren horror/fantasy blad “Eerie”, #135, såvidt jeg kan skimte i hjørneboksen oktober 1982, så har det nok været ude om sommeren, og sommeren er en god årstid at blive indendøre og fordybe sig i 100 siders Ditko. Forsiden er så IKKE AF DITKO, men af en vis Manuel Sanjulian, en fed maler i en sand gotisk-beefcake-cheesecake-Corben-venøs stil poppet og pulpet nok til at forlede unge sjæle til at spendere på 100 siders Ditko. Cousin Eerie sidder godt lunt deroppe i øverste venstre hjørne, var det “gnæk gnæk” hos Onkel Kryb?

In the mid-’60s, Ditko produced sixteen stories for Warren, mostly written by the late Archie Goodwin, all but three using an ink-wash technique. They are widely considered to be amongst his finest work as an artist.

First is “The Spirit of the Thing!” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Creepy 9, probably their best collaberation aside from the next story, “Collectors Edition”.

Second is one of Warren’s all time most famous stories, “Collectors Edition” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Creepy 10.

Third is “Beast Man” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Creepy 11.

Fourth is “Blood of the Werewolf!” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Creepy 12.

Fifth is “Second Chance!”, with art by Steve Ditko and story by Archie Goodwin. This story was originally printed in Creepy 13.

Sixth is “Where Sorcery Lives” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Creepy 14.

Seventh is “City of Doom!” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Creepy 15. This story features the Barbarian Thane in his first appearance, a character that would appear in random stories by Archie Goodwin throughout the years.

The eighth story is “The Incredible Shrieking Man!” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Eerie 4.

Ninth is “Fly!” by Steve Ditko (art) and Goodwin (story), from Eerie 7.

Last is “Demon Sword!” by Steve Ditko (art) and Archie Goodwin (story), from Eerie 8.
